Our verdict
Tiger Brokers suits a self-directed investor in Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia or New Zealand who wants several stock markets, options and futures in one app at a moderate price. The case is strongest in Singapore: SGX shares cost 0.03% commission plus a 0.03% platform fee (minimums SGD 0.99 and SGD 1), the SGX custody fee is waived until further notice, there is no minimum deposit, and the Cash Boost Account links CDP, CPF and SRS holdings. US shares are not commission-free there: USD 0.005 per share commission plus USD 0.005 per share platform fee, with minimums of USD 0.99 and USD 1 per order and a USD 0.003 per share settlement fee on top. In Hong Kong, Tiger Brokers (HK) offers HK shares at HKD 0 commission to targeted participants for a limited time (standard 0.029%, as of 2 November 2026) plus a HKD 15 platform fee, and its clients can trade a short list of crypto assets under the SFC licence.
Two cautions belong in any decision. First, the regulatory record: in a statement reported on 3 January 2023, China's CSRC faulted the group for unlicensed cross-border business with mainland clients, and on 22 May 2026 its Beijing Bureau imposed penalties and confiscations of about RMB 411 million (about USD 59.7 million) on subsidiaries; UP Fintech says it accepts the penalty. Second, protection differs by entity: Hong Kong clients have the Investor Compensation Fund up to HKD 500,000 for Hong Kong exchange-traded products, Singapore clients' US shares sit with an affiliated FINRA/SIPC member, and the New Zealand company states that it is not licensed by a New Zealand regulator. We found no Tiger Brokers entity that takes clients in Europe.
Best for
- Singapore investors using CDP, CPF or SRS
- Multi-market stock and options traders in Asia-Pacific
- Hong Kong residents who want stocks and crypto in one app
- Futures traders on CME, HKEX and SGX
Less suitable for
- Residents of Europe
- Investors who want zero-commission US shares
- Investors who weigh a clean regulatory record heavily
- New Zealand clients who want a locally licensed broker
Pros & cons
Pros
7- At Tiger Brokers Singapore, one Tiger Trade account reaches US, Hong Kong, Singapore, China A-share (Stock Connect) and Australian stocks, plus US and HK options, futures, US Treasuries and over 1,500 funds
- Low SGX pricing at Tiger Brokers Singapore: 0.03% commission plus a 0.03% platform fee (minimums SGD 0.99 and SGD 1), and the SGD 2 quarterly SGX custody fee is waived until further notice
- Licensed group companies in Singapore (MAS), Hong Kong (SFC, CE BMU940) and Australia (ASIC, AFSL 300767) under a Nasdaq-listed parent (TIGR)
- Singapore-specific features: the Cash Boost Account with CDP, CPF and SRS linkage, Singpass onboarding and no minimum deposit
- Free US Level 2 data (NYSE ArcaBook) and a free demo account with USD 1 million in virtual funds
- Auto-invest from USD 2 in US stocks and ETFs, HKD 500 in HK stocks and SGD 100 in SGX stocks, daily to monthly (SGX plans on the 1st and 15th of each month)
- Hong Kong clients can trade BTC, ETH, SOL, AVAX and LINK as retail investors under the SFC licence, with on-chain deposits and withdrawals for BTC and ETH (USDT for professional investors only)
Cons
5- China's CSRC Beijing Bureau imposed penalties and confiscations of about RMB 411 million (about USD 59.7 million) on group subsidiaries on 22 May 2026, after an earlier CSRC finding of unlicensed cross-border business reported in January 2023
- US shares are not commission-free in Singapore: USD 0.005 per share commission plus USD 0.005 per share platform fee (minimums USD 0.99 and USD 1 per order) plus a USD 0.003 per share settlement fee
- The New Zealand company is registered as a client money and property service provider but states that it is not licensed by a New Zealand regulator
- Prices, products and protection differ by entity, and some advertised prices (the HK commissions for targeted participants, the US option coupon plan) are time-limited promotions or need activation
- Moving holdings out of Tiger Brokers (HK) costs USD 150 per US stock and HKD 500 per Hong Kong stock, and neither the Singapore nor the Hong Kong pages we read state what currency conversion costs

Recorded regulatory actions
2022 · CSRC
China's securities regulator stated that UP Fintech had conducted cross-border securities business with mainland Chinese investors without regulatory approval and barred it from soliciting new mainland clients; existing clients could keep trading, but unlawful inflows of new funds were prohibited (reported by finews.asia on 3 January 2023). UP Fintech says it fully stopped opening accounts for mainland residents in 2023.
2026 · CSRC (Beijing Bureau)US$59,700,000
On 22 May 2026 the CSRC Beijing Bureau imposed administrative penalties and confiscated illegal gains totalling about RMB 411 million on certain UP Fintech subsidiaries for unlicensed cross-border securities business and illegal fund and futures activities in mainland China. UP Fintech says it accepts the penalty and that mainland clients held about 10% of the group's client assets at the end of March 2026.

Full review: Tiger Brokers
This review is based on official pricing schedules, legal documents and other available sources. It does not claim that we opened an account with this broker or tested it in practice.
Fees and what they cost in practice
Tiger Brokers has no single price list: each group company publishes its own. All figures are as of 2 November 2026; promotions and waivers can end at any time. The Singapore figures below exclude the 9% Singapore GST that Tiger Brokers Singapore adds to its fees.
Singapore (Tiger Brokers (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., standard account):
- SGX shares, ETFs and REITs: 0.03% commission (minimum SGD 0.99) plus a 0.03% platform fee (minimum SGD 1), so at least SGD 1.99 per order, before the SGX trading fee of 0.0075% and clearing fee of 0.0325%.
- US shares and ETFs: USD 0.005 per share commission (minimum USD 0.99) plus USD 0.005 per share platform fee (minimum USD 1), each capped at 0.5% of trade value, plus a USD 0.003 per share settlement fee. A 100-share order therefore costs USD 2.29 before SEC and CAT fees. Fractional trades below 1 share pay only a 1% platform fee, capped at USD 1.
- Hong Kong shares: 0.03% commission (minimum HKD 7) plus 0.03% platform fee (minimum HKD 8), before the 0.1% stamp duty and exchange levies.
- US options: USD 0.65 per contract under the Ultra-low plan, which has to be activated as a coupon; otherwise the regular plan applies with a minimum of USD 2.99 per order.
- Futures: USD 1.99 commission plus USD 1 platform fee per E-mini contract per side, before exchange and regulatory fees.
- US Treasuries: 0.08% of face value plus a 0.04% platform fee (minimum USD 5, maximum USD 15), and a custody fee of 0.08% a year.
- Fund Mall: no sales charge and no platform fee.
Hong Kong (Tiger Brokers (HK) Global Limited): HK shares at a special HKD 0 commission for targeted participants for a limited time (standard 0.029%) plus a fixed HKD 15 platform fee per order; US shares at USD 0.0049 per share (minimum USD 0.99) plus USD 0.005 per share platform fee (minimum USD 1); US options at a special USD 0 commission, again for targeted participants for a limited time (standard USD 0.65 per contract), plus USD 0.30 per contract platform fee (minimum USD 0.99). Transferring stock out costs USD 150 per US stock and HKD 500 per HK stock.
New Zealand and Australia: Tiger Fintech (NZ) charges a USD 2 flat fee for up to 200 US shares. Tiger Brokers Australia's comparison table (last reviewed 17 February 2025) shows USD 2.02 in standard fees for a USD 1,000 US share purchase.
Free in Singapore: deposits and withdrawals on Tiger's side, the SGX custody fee (waived until further notice) and Fund Mall subscriptions. Not readable for us: the margin interest rates, which load only in the browser, and any FX markup, which the Singapore help page does not state.
Safety and regulation
Tiger Brokers is a brand, and the company that holds your account depends on where you live. All of them belong to UP Fintech Holding Limited, listed on Nasdaq as TIGR since March 2019, which reported 1,282,800 funded accounts and USD 58.9 billion in client assets at the end of March 2026.
- Singapore: Tiger Brokers (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. (UEN 201810449W) holds a Capital Markets Services licence from the Monetary Authority of Singapore and is a trading and clearing member of SGX Group. It states that it is authorised to operate only in Singapore. Client money and assets sit in segregated trust and custodian accounts, and DBS Bank is the custodian bank for client funds. US trades are cleared by the affiliate TradeUP Securities, Inc. (FINRA CRD 18483) and held at DTC, which is why the site cites SIPC cover of up to USD 500,000 for US securities. SGX shares sit in a sub-account of Tiger's nominee account at CDP.
- Hong Kong: Tiger Brokers (HK) Global Limited (CE BMU940) has held SFC licences for types 1 and 2 since 11 July 2018, types 4 and 5 since 24 August 2022 and type 9 since 26 March 2024. The SFC register lists no public disciplinary action. Hong Kong's Investor Compensation Fund covers up to HKD 500,000 per investor for Hong Kong exchange-traded products.
- Australia: Tiger Brokers (AU) Pty Limited holds AFSL 300767 from ASIC, sponsors ASX holdings in CHESS, keeps client money in segregated trust accounts and points to the Compensation Scheme of Last Resort, which pays up to AUD 150,000 on unpaid AFCA determinations.
- New Zealand: Tiger Fintech (NZ) Limited and Tiger Brokers (NZ) Limited are registered client money and property service providers. Both state that they are not licensed by a New Zealand regulator for that service.
The record that belongs in any safety assessment: in a statement reported on 3 January 2023, China's CSRC said UP Fintech had run cross-border securities business for mainland investors without approval and barred it from taking new mainland clients. On 22 May 2026 the CSRC Beijing Bureau imposed penalties and confiscated gains of about RMB 411 million (about USD 59.7 million) on subsidiaries for unlicensed cross-border securities business and illegal fund and futures activity in mainland China. UP Fintech says it accepts the penalty, stopped opening accounts for mainland residents in 2023, and that mainland clients held about 10% of client assets. None of this makes any broker guaranteed safe; compensation schemes cover a broker's failure, not market losses.
Trading platforms
Everything runs through Tiger Trade, available as a mobile app for iOS and Android and as a desktop application for Windows and macOS (10.15 or later). The app carries real-time quotes, charting with more than 50 technical indicators according to the Hong Kong site, alerts on stock movements, a screener, a key-events calendar, a 24/7 news feed and a community feed where users share ideas. The Singapore site advertises 24/5 trading for more than 9,500 stocks and ETFs, and options trading supports strategies with up to four legs.
Market data is a strength on paper. The Singapore site offers complimentary real-time stock quotes, free NYSE ArcaBook Level 2 data for US stocks after registration and Level 2 data for SGX, and its pricing page advertises 40 levels of bid and ask. The Hong Kong site also offers free US Level 2 data (NYSE ArcaBook) and supports Hong Kong Level 2.
TigerAI is the group's AI assistant. UP Fintech says it moved TigerAI to a multi-agent structure in the first quarter of 2026, added a futures-focused agent and now combines three language models. Treat its output as a research aid, not as advice.
For automation, the Tiger Open Platform offers an API documented on a developer site run under the Singapore domain. A demo account with USD 1 million in virtual funds is free and covers selected stocks and options, so you can practise on the same interface before funding. Security features named by the provider include two-factor authentication and ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certifications.
We have not used the platform ourselves. The platform and mobile scores here are editorial judgements from the published feature set, not the result of hands-on use.
Markets and products
The range is broad for an app broker. Through Tiger Brokers Singapore you can trade:
- Stocks and ETFs on US exchanges (including fractional US shares), SGX (including odd lots, REITs, DLCs and warrants), HKEX, China A-shares through Northbound Stock Connect (except ChiNext and STAR Market stocks) and the ASX.
- Options on US stocks and ETFs and on Hong Kong stocks, plus HKEX index options. As of 2 November 2026, Tiger Brokers Singapore said extended-hours US options trading would start on 9 November 2026.
- Futures: more than 100 products on exchanges including CME, CBOT, Cboe, HKEX and SGX, covering index, treasury, metal, energy, currency, agricultural and equity futures, plus CME Bitcoin and Ether futures.
- Bonds: US Treasuries, with a minimum of 10 bonds (USD 1,000 face value) per transaction.
- Funds: more than 1,500 unit trusts in the Fund Mall, and money market funds through Tiger Vault.
- IPOs: subscriptions for US and Hong Kong listings.
The Hong Kong company adds spot crypto. Retail clients can trade BTC, ETH, SOL, AVAX and LINK; professional investors get a longer list (the page names 18 assets and speaks of 20 virtual assets in total). Orders are executed through Hash Blockchain Limited (HashKey), an SFC-licensed trading platform, for a 0.05% handling fee with no commission or platform fee, and BTC and ETH can be deposited and withdrawn on-chain (USDT for professional investors only). The New Zealand company lists a virtual-asset commission of 0.1% of trade value; what product form that takes is not established from the pages we read.
We found no CFDs, spot forex trading or spread betting on any of the four regional sites; currency conversion exists to fund trades in other markets. Products differ by entity: the Australian app, for example, focuses on ASX, US and HK shares, China A-shares and US and HK options, while the New Zealand company adds NZX shares and futures.
Singapore specifics: Cash Boost, CPF, SRS and Tiger Vault
Singapore is where Tiger Brokers has built the most local plumbing.
- Cash Boost Account: a trading-limit account for users in Singapore, opened with Singpass. Approved clients receive a default trading limit (the page names at least SGD 20,000) and can buy SGX, US, HK and A-share stocks and settle only the gain or loss through contra trading, or pay in full by the force-selling date to keep the shares. Losses can exceed the account balance, as the page itself warns. Tiger's own price example for a stock purchase of SGD 5,000 in the Cash Boost Account shows 0.22% of trade value with a minimum of SGD 9.99.
- CPF and SRS: the Cash Boost Account can be linked to a CPF Investment Account or SRS account held with DBS, OCBC or UOB. CPF and SRS trades are not eligible for contra trading and can only be sold after settlement.
- CDP linkage: you can link your own CDP securities account and sell CDP-held SGX shares through Cash Boost.
- Tiger Vault: a cash-management service offering T+0 USD and SGD money market funds from external managers, from USD 1 or SGD 1, with no Tiger subscription or redemption fee; the fund's own management fee sits in its NAV. An optional auto-sweep invests idle cash daily and lets up to 99% of the Vault balance count as buying power. Vault balances are fund units, not deposits, and returns are not guaranteed.
- Auto-invest: regular purchases from USD 2 in US stocks and ETFs, HKD 500 in Hong Kong stocks and SGD 100 in SGX stocks, daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly (SGX plans on the 1st and 15th of each month). Orders follow the normal schedule; US purchases below 1 share pay 1% capped at USD 1, and SGX auto-invest carries no commission, only the 0.03% platform fee (minimum SGD 1).
These are Singapore terms. The Hong Kong company runs its own versions of Tiger Vault and auto-invest under separate terms, which we did not analyse in detail.
Account opening and funding
Opening is fully digital. In Singapore you sign up in the Tiger Trade app or on the website, ideally with Singpass, choose a cash or margin account, upload ID and proof of address and wait for approval; Tiger Brokers Singapore says accounts are opened within 1 to 3 business days. You must be 18 to open a cash account; a margin account (up to 4x leverage) needs age 21 and full-time work, self-employment or retirement. In Hong Kong the initial deposit must come from a Hong Kong licensed bank account for verification; Tiger says the process can take as little as 10 minutes.
Deposits in Singapore are accepted in SGD, USD, HKD, EUR, AUD and CNH:
- DDA from DBS/POSB in SGD: about 5 minutes, free.
- FAST in SGD: from 15 minutes during business hours; other currencies 1–2 business days; transfers from banks outside Singapore 1–3 business days.
- PayNow and Wise are also supported.
Tiger and its receiving bank DBS charge nothing, but sending and intermediary banks may. Deposits must come from an account in your own name; third-party payments are refunded, and banks may charge up to USD 100 for that.
Withdrawals are reviewed in 1–2 business days and then take 1–3 business days. Tiger charges nothing: SGD by FAST up to SGD 200,000 is free, MEPS costs a bank fee of about SGD 5, and telegraphic transfers cost about SGD 35 or USD 25 plus intermediary charges. HKD to a Hong Kong bank can go by FPS free of charge.
There is no minimum deposit at Tiger Brokers Singapore. Currency conversion happens in the app at a real-time rate, up to USD 1,000,000 equivalent per order; the help page does not state a markup. An account without deposits, withdrawals or trades for 36 months becomes dormant and is suspended until you reactivate it.
Research, education and customer support
Research at Tiger Brokers is a data and community layer. The app combines real-time quotes, Level 2 depth, company financials, a key-events calendar, a 24/7 news feed, stock-movement alerts and a screener; the Hong Kong site adds free short-selling data refreshed daily for NYSE and Nasdaq. TigerAI answers questions on markets and, since the first quarter of 2026, on futures. We found no in-house equity research reports on the pages we read.
Education is organised around onboarding: Tiger Academy materials on the Singapore site, a Learn section, investor events such as TTX 2026 and the free demo account. It covers the basics and the mechanics of options and futures, but it is lighter than at brokers with a large structured course library.
Customer support depends on the entity:
- Singapore: phone +65 6331 2277 on weekdays 08:30–18:30 SGT; online chat and WhatsApp on weekdays from 08:30 to 05:00 the next day; email service@tigerbrokers.com.sg.
- Hong Kong: phone +852 2127 0666 on weekdays 09:30–18:30 HKT; online chat from 09:30 to 05:00 the next day; email hk-gcs@tigerbrokers.com.hk.
- Australia: phone 02 9169 6999 on weekdays 9am–5pm Sydney time; online chat until 8:30pm.
- New Zealand: phone 0800 884 437 on weekdays 09:30–17:30.
The extended chat hours in Singapore and Hong Kong reach into the US trading session, which matters for an Asia-based US trader. Service is offered in English and Chinese. Tiger Brokers Singapore cites awards such as Best Retail Broker at the SIAS Investors' Choice Awards 2026; these are the provider's own references. Our support score of 3.6 reflects the channels and hours; we have no independent data on response quality.
Frequently asked questions
That depends on where you live. Singapore residents are served by Tiger Brokers (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. (MAS licence), Hong Kong residents by Tiger Brokers (HK) Global Limited (SFC, CE BMU940), Australians by Tiger Brokers (AU) Pty Limited (AFSL 300767) and New Zealanders by Tiger Fintech (NZ) Limited, which is registered as a client money and property service provider but states that it is not licensed by a New Zealand regulator. Prices, products and investor protection differ between them.
We found no Tiger Brokers entity that takes clients in Europe. The Singapore company states that it is authorised to operate only in Singapore, the Australian company says its services are not for residents outside Australia, Hong Kong pricing applies to holders of a Hong Kong identity card, and the New Zealand company addresses New Zealand investors. Investors in Germany, Austria or Switzerland therefore need a broker that accepts residents of their country.
In a statement reported on 3 January 2023, the CSRC said UP Fintech had run cross-border securities business for mainland Chinese investors without approval and barred it from soliciting new mainland clients. On 22 May 2026 the CSRC Beijing Bureau imposed administrative penalties and confiscated gains of about RMB 411 million (about USD 59.7 million) on certain subsidiaries. UP Fintech says it accepts the penalty, stopped opening accounts for mainland residents in 2023 and that mainland clients held about 10% of client assets. UP Fintech says the penalties stem from business in mainland China and that its global operations remain normal; the SFC register lists no public disciplinary action against the Hong Kong company.
USD 0.005 per share commission (minimum USD 0.99) plus USD 0.005 per share platform fee (minimum USD 1), each capped at 0.5% of trade value, plus a USD 0.003 per share settlement fee. A 100-share order therefore costs USD 2.29 before SEC and CAT fees, and Tiger Brokers Singapore adds 9% GST on its fees. Fractional orders below 1 share pay only a 1% platform fee, capped at USD 1.
According to Tiger, client money is held in segregated client trust accounts under the rules of each jurisdiction. Hong Kong clients have the Investor Compensation Fund, which covers up to HKD 500,000 per person for Hong Kong exchange-traded products. Tiger Brokers Singapore says US securities are protected up to USD 500,000 by SIPC through its US clearing affiliate. Tiger Brokers Australia points to the CSLR, which pays up to AUD 150,000 on unpaid AFCA determinations. None of these schemes covers market losses, and no broker is guaranteed safe.
In Hong Kong, yes: retail clients of Tiger Brokers (HK) can trade spot BTC, ETH, SOL, AVAX and LINK, executed through the SFC-licensed platform of Hash Blockchain Limited, for a 0.05% handling fee, and can deposit and withdraw BTC and ETH on-chain; USDT transfers are open to professional investors only. In Singapore we found CME Bitcoin and Ether futures but no spot crypto. The New Zealand company lists a virtual-asset commission of 0.1% of trade value. For Australia we found no crypto offer.
