Best brokers in the UAE

The UAE has three layers of supervision: the Capital Market Authority (CMA, formerly SCA) for the onshore market, the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) in the DIFC financial centre and the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) in Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM). With any provider, check which entity holds your contract and which licence it has: Capital.com, Pepperstone and Plus500 have entities licensed by the CMA, and per Plus500 its DIFC entity Plus500AE Ltd is not authorised to hold client money. We found no official source on an investor compensation scheme for any of the three layers.

The part that decides

Tax notes

Under Cabinet Decision No. 49 of 2023 (in force since 1 June 2023), a natural person's personal investment income is not a business activity subject to Corporate Tax, whatever the amount — provided the investment is neither conducted through nor requires a licence and is not a commercial business. We have not read an official page on personal income tax for individuals. Tax obligations in your home country may continue to apply. There is no income tax treaty with the United States, so US dividends bear 30% US withholding tax.

Brokers that withhold tax locally

Our dataset records no provider as a tax withholding agent for this country. How you declare the income is governed by the country's tax law.

Orientation based on the general legal position — not tax advice. Your personal situation and the legislation in force at the time govern.
